Frequently Asked Questions

Do you prefer a certain species of wood?
Yes. For the structure of the piece (cross, box, tray, etc.), Poplar is our favorite as it comes in interesting colors, sands well, and looks amazing when a stain or wax is applied to it. For the corners, we typically use Walnut. It provides a nice contrast in color to the Poplar and makes it a super strong joint.

Do you prefer a particular stain or wax?
Yes. At the moment, we really like the look of a dark wax. It provides a nice sealer as well as brings out colors of the wood and its grain.

Can the size of the piece be selected by the customer?
Absolutely. All of our pieces are handcrafted, made to order, and to your specifications. For example, you might choose to size a box or tray based on the dimensions of your Bible.

How much does a piece typically cost?
It's difficult to say as all pieces are unique, but the range for a box or tray is typically between $125 and $350. Crosses will be a bit less.

Which methods of payment do you accept?
Currently, we prefer direct payments via Zelle or Venmo.

Is there a cost for shipping and handling?
Yes. Depending on the size, weight, and shipping destination, we'll add the amount to the final payment.
